2026 EWA General assembly in Palermo – Italy on June 12
The 2026 EWA General Assembly in Palermo , is marked by some changes voted by the members:
•An extraordinary general meeting was held prior to the ordinary general assembly to amend the association’s statutes, specifically to integrate affiliated members who produce goods or services in Europe related to welding equipment or consumables. Further information will be provided in the coming weeks.
•Luigi Frasson ( for INE ) and Frederic Lanz for Kemper were elected for a second mandate of 2 years as vice president
•With the term of Lincoln Electric, represented by G. Doria, coming to an end, Voestalpine Boehler Welding (represented by Martin Perruzi) was elected , Vice President , for an initial two-year term.
•The association’s board of directors, until the next general meeting in 2027, is composed of Harald Scherleitner as President, Luigi Frasson , Frederic Lanz , Martin Peruzzi as vice president
•A special thanks to Gregory Doria for his contribution to the association during his mandate as vice president
•We’re also excited to welcome 3 new members to the EWA community: DINSE , PATON international as associated members and IPG Photonics as affiliated member– we’re looking forward to shaping the future of welding together
•Guy Missiaen, after 14 years with EWA, including 11 years as Managing Director, has decided to retire. All members thank him for his contribution to the management , the development of the association and his commitment to defending the European welding industry.
•Maria Nilsson with a background of more than 30 years in the welding industry and an experience in the management of association has been elected general manager of EWA from 2026 November 1st
